Our Travel Vaccination Services

We provide vaccinations for a wide range of diseases, including but not limited to:

  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Typhoid and Cholera
  • Rabies
  • Yellow Fever
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Meningitis ACWY
  • Tick-Borne Encephalitis
  • Malaria Prevention

We recommend scheduling your travel vaccination consultation at least 4–6 weeks before your departure. This timeframe allows most vaccines to take full effect, providing optimal protection during your travels.

How our Travel Vaccination Service works
  • Initial Consultation: During your consultation, we discuss your travel plans in detail, including your destination, duration, and activities. We assess any specific health conditions you may have and review any vaccinations you may need.
  • Personalised Vaccination Plan: Based on your needs, we develop a tailored vaccination plan and administer any necessary vaccines, ensuring you’re fully informed about each step.
  • Post-Vaccination Advice: After your vaccinations, we provide guidance on managing any side effects and staying healthy during your trip. We also issue a vaccination record if required for travel documentation.

Once a course of vaccinations is booked it is non-refundable, even if the patient decides to go elsewhere. Please also remember some vaccines are time-sensitive.

At The Guildhall Practice, we’re committed to helping you travel safely and confidently. To schedule your travel vaccination appointment or discuss any questions, please contact us at The Guildhall Practice.

How long before my trip should I book my vaccinations?

We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks before your trip to ensure the vaccines have time to take full effect. However, if you have last-minute travel plans, please contact us; we can offer a tailored solution based on the time available.

What happens if I need a vaccine that requires multiple doses?

Certain vaccines, like rabies or Japanese encephalitis, require more than one dose over a period of time. We will provide you with a schedule to ensure you receive each dose in time before your departure. In some cases, an accelerated dosing schedule may be an option.

Are there side effects from travel vaccinations?

Most travel vaccines have minimal side effects. Common reactions include mild swelling, redness at the injection site, or a low-grade fever. These side effects are usually short-lived and do not impact your daily activities. We provide post-vaccination guidance to help you manage any side effects comfortably.

Can I get all the travel vaccinations I need in one visit?

This depends on the specific vaccines required. Some vaccines can be administered simultaneously, while others may need to be spaced apart for effectiveness or safety. During your consultation, we’ll advise on the best approach to completing your vaccinations efficiently.

Do I need malaria tablets, and can I get them at The Guildhall Practice?

Malaria prevention often requires tablets rather than a vaccine. During your travel consultation, we’ll discuss whether malaria is a risk at your destination and, if so, prescribe the appropriate antimalarial medication for you.

Will my travel vaccinations be recorded in a Yellow Fever Certificate or other documents?

Yes, for countries requiring proof of vaccination (such as for Yellow Fever), we provide a vaccination certificate. Our team ensures you have all the necessary documentation to meet your destination’s requirements.
