CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19): PCR TEST TO RELEASE FROM INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL – KIDDERMINSTER TEST CENTRE
Test-To-Release is a UK Government scheme that allows international arrivals to stop self-isolating after just five days in quarantine.
Firstly, you need to complete a Passenger Locator Form to opt-in to the scheme. Arrivals can do this up to two days before landing in the UK. Secondly, you need to book an appointment for a Covid-19 PCR test.
Importantly, you must book your test at a UK Government-approved, UKAS, testing centre. The Guildhall Practice is an approved private test centre. Therefore, we can arrange for your Test-To-Release From Quarantine Certificate. You are allowed to leave quarantine to have a Covid-19 test. However, government advice is that you should avoid public transport if at all possible.
Day 5 Test to Release KIDDERMINSTER
Under the Government Test to Release scheme, you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test on day 5. If the result is negative (and the result of your day 2 test result was negative or inconclusive) you can end your quarantine.
You can’t take your Test to Release test until you have been in England for 5 full days.
The scheme is voluntary and applies to those quarantining in England only.
If you do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, you will need to quarantine for 10 days.
You cannot take part in the scheme if you have been in or through a country or territory on the red list in the 10 days before you arrive in England.
We offer Same-Day and Next-Day Covid-19 PCR test result options in Kidderminster. Book your appointment online for our Kidderminster Testing site. Alternatively, please call the practice on 01214412626 and one of the team will be happy to help.

What are the current rules for international arrivals to the UK?
Firstly, you must have a valid Covid-19 test within the three days before your arrival.
Secondly, you must book a travel test package through the UK Government website.
This package includes tests on day 2 and day 8 of your quarantine. We also do the Day 5 test to release from Quarantine. These tests are compulsory, regardless of whether you are opting in for the Test-To-Release scheme.
We also do the Day 5 test to release from Quarantine.
What is Test To Release?
It’s the UK government test to release from quarantine scheme for international travellers. Allows International arrivals to stop self-isolating after just five days with a negative PCR Covid-19 test result.
The Guildhall Practice uses UKAS accredited laboratories. Therefore, we can sign your Test-To-Release From Quarantine.
How Does Test To Release Scheme Work?
International arrivals to the UK are currently required to quarantine for ten days. However, the UK government created the test to release scheme in December 2020. The scheme allows people who have travelled abroad to reduce their time in quarantine to five days. Firstly, you need to opt-in to the scheme by completing a passenger locator form to take this option. Secondly, you need to book your Covid-19 PCR test with an approved private test provider. The Guildhall Practice uses UKAS approved and accredited laboratories and is authorised to provide the test to release certificates. We offer same-day and next-day Covid-19 PCR results options. Finally, with a negative PCR test result, you will receive your test to release certificate. Importantly you will be able to stop self-isolating.
When can I complete the passenger locator form?
You can submit the passenger locator form at any time within 48 hours before you arrive in the UK. It’s an online form.
Simply select The Guildhall Practice as your private Covid-19 testing centre for your PCR test.
When can I take the Test To Release Covid-19 PCR test?
The wording is often a little ambiguous. However, on the morning of your fifth full day since arriving in the UK, you can be tested. You don’t count the day you arrived in the UK.
For example, if you arrive in the UK on Monday afternoon, Tuesday is counted as your first day. Therefore, Saturday morning is the earliest that you can have your test.
With our same-day option, you would be free to stop self-isolating on Saturday evening. Otherwise, if you choose the next-day option, it will be on Sunday.
What should I do if I’m travelling with other people?
Every adult arriving in the UK must complete an individual Test-To-Release form.
However, you can add a child if they are under 18 years old, providing that they arrive with you and quarantine with you.
What information do I need to provide to opt into the scheme?
Your passport details
The details of the counties that you have travelled from, including dates and times
The booking reference number for your Covid-19 PCR test at the guildhall practice
Finally, if required, the booking reference number for the hotel is where you are spending your quarantine.
Can I leave my house for my Covid-19 PCR test?
Yes, you can travel directly to one of our testing sites.
However, you should avoid public transport if at all possible.
What are the red list countries?
However, you can still return to the UK from one of these countries with certain conditions.
Firstly, you can return to the UK if you are a UK or Irish National.
Secondly, you can also arrive in the UK if you have residency rights in the UK.
Finally, you must quarantine in a government-approved hotel for ten days.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to take advantage of the Test To Release scheme.
The list changes frequently. However, you will find the details of the current rules on the UK Government website.
What happens if I test positive for Covid-19?
What if the test is inconclusive?
Unfortunately, if your covid-19 test is inconclusive, then you will need to continue self-isolating.
A member of our team will call you in the event of an inconclusive test result to discuss your options regarding re-testing.
