Birmingham Acupuncture Clinic

The Guildhall Practice provides excellent acupuncture treatments in Birmingham. Acupuncture – As a standalone therapy or as a complement to other treatments, acupuncture provides an effective solution for many conditions. It is a holistic treatment which understands that factors such as stress, tiredness or emotional upset, as well as physical trauma, can lead to physical symptoms.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM ACUPUCTURE?

Mark’s approach is to create a good rapport with the patient to make them feel relaxed and comfortable, take a thorough medical history and implement the best course of treatment for their symptoms and their situation.

Acupuncture treatment involves having very fine needles gently inserted into acupuncture points that help the healing process. Sometimes, in the case of muscular problems for example, the points selected are where the pain is felt. The acupuncturist may also select other points around the body to help holistically with the body’s healing process.

Acupuncture benefits

Acupuncture needling generally feels mild, like a dull ache. Patients often describe a feeling of very deep relaxation after an acupuncture treatment so it’s best not to plan anything too hectic afterwards, although driving and walking are fine. Sometimes a stand-alone acupuncture treatment will suffice for conditions such as muscular pain, especially if it is used in conjunction with massage and a post-treatment exercise programme the practitioner may recommend. For more chronic conditions such as migraines, a course of treatment will be needed. The acupuncturist will talk through the best treatment plan with the patient so they can be fully onboard with the treatment process.

” Treating the patient as an individual is at the core of acupuncture treatment. “
